How I work
"Good books and good growth are made the same way: read closely, outline honestly, draft bravely, edit ruthlessly, publish on schedule."
Every engagement follows the same five steps
Each step below exists because skipping it is the most common way growth work fails. Strategy without an audit is guessing. Content without strategy is noise. Systems without proof are bureaucracy. So on every piece of agreed work, we go in order. The free first consultation comes before step one: it is where we decide whether to start and what the work should cover. How long each step then takes depends on the scope we agree.
-
Read the business as it actually is
I read everything: your site, your content, your funnel, your competitors, your reviews, your sales calls if you will let me. I interview you and the people who buy from you. The output is a written diagnosis of where clarity breaks down and where growth is leaking, in plain language, with receipts.
-
Outline the story and the system
Now the decisions. Who exactly we are for, what we claim, which channels we commit to, and what we will stop doing. You get a positioning document, a channel strategy, and a roadmap short enough that your team will actually follow it.
-
Draft the work in public
Words on pages, campaigns in market, outreach in inboxes. Depending on the engagement, I write it, ghostwrite it, or brief and train the people who will. Nothing waits for perfect. We ship working drafts and let contact with the market improve them.
-
Edit against the numbers
Every draft meets its data: rankings, replies, conversions, pipeline. We keep what moved, cut what did not, and sharpen what almost did. It is the step most often skipped, and the one that gets most of my attention, because editing is the discipline I came from.
-
Publish the system your team can run
The engagement ends with a running system: documented playbooks, templates, calendars, dashboards, and a team that knows how to operate them. The goal is for you to need me less over time.
What this feels like as a client
You will always know where things stand. Every engagement runs on an agreed cadence: a short update when something ships, a working session when a decision is needed, and a regular review of the numbers on longer engagements. No status theater, no surprise invoices, no jargon in the reporting.
You will also be asked to decide things. Positioning requires saying no to audiences, channels, and claims, and only you can authorize the no. My job is to make each decision small, clear, and reversible where possible, so momentum never waits on a committee.
And when something is not working, you will hear it from me first, with a proposed fix attached. Any change to scope or cost is agreed before it starts.
